Look, team vitaminwater-Trek out on a cross-training ride.

In full disclosure, when I was a kid I worked at the long-gone City Sweats (replaced by a candle store...sigh) and sold dozens of 5-wheel carbon fiber speed blades... And yes, I owned a pair once... Funnily enough I'm not sure which makes one a bigger ninny: owning speed in-line skates or being a skinny shaved-leg cyclist...

Still...they're one step higher than a recumbent criterium...

Bigger ninny = shaved legs AND inline skates...if your skating you need a stick and to be beating the shit out of somebody. End of Story.

Ouch! That's MY speedskating team your bashing there. Team Rainbo... yes, the same Rainbo you so fondly and eloquently wrote of in your previous post. A fun history lesson, I might add. Sitting fourth in that paceline is Rainbo's longtime owner, Cale Carvell (who could tell you stories for days about Rainbo and the Kinetic Playground)... and I'd have to get confirmation, but I believe that is the one and only Mike Heagney at the front of that group. That would have been right around the time of his brief foray into inline speedskating. He was just as fast on skates, too.

Anyway, can't we all just get along?!?! Dag.

Awesome Kevin! Thanks for commenting...I had no idea of the connection! That's really cool actually...please know that we make fun ourselves just as much as we do inline skaters...and not as much as recumbents...what's the inline racing scene like? When was this picture taken? It of course popped up as I was researching the Rainbo Gardens entry...very cool. Please tell me more...
